Based on observation, my work covers a wide range of subject matter painted in oils. I seek to evoke the atmospheric and emotional aspects of everyday objects and scenes.
Based on observation, my work covers a wide range of subject matter painted in oils. I seek to evoke the mysterious and magical aspects found in objects and scenes encountered in everyday life. My painting can be stimulated by many things: the play of light on an interior wall, the nuanced atmosphere of a still, misty day, or an object which happens to fascinate me. I am particularly interested in developing expressive representations of painterly form, texture and colour that can range from the subtle to the spectacular.
